Referring to the termination of UN Security Council Resolution 2231, Hamid Ghanbari, the Deputy Minister of Economic Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, said: What is happening to the JCPOA is the same as what happened in the JCPOA. After accepting the restrictions stipulated in the JCPOA, Iran will withdraw from the sanctions imposed by the United Nations Security Council, and with the establishment of the period stipulated in the JCPOA and the existing restrictions, it will be officially terminated.
In response to the illegal action of three European countries to activate Snapback, he said: What is stated in the agreement is clear and does not need interpretation. The action taken by the three European countries is similar to the action that the US tried to take in relation to the JCPOA. While he himself had withdrawn from the JCPOA and did not fulfill his obligations, he claimed that he should use the rights provided for him by the JCPOA and demanded the reimposition of sanctions against Iran, at which point the international community declared this action illegal and illegitimate.
Ghanbari stated: The current process is not similar to that process. The European countries that were with the United States tried to restore the sanctions of the Security Council against the Islamic Republic of Iran by abusing the text and provisions of the JCPOA, but they faced the opposition of many countries, including some members of the Security Council and especially the countries of the Non-Aligned Movement.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs noted that a large number of countries declared this action illegal and against legal principles. Therefore, the claim of these countries cannot be accepted for legal reasons.
