The Taliban announced today, citing the statements of Reza Bahrami, Director General of South Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, in a meeting in Kabul, that Iran is ready to mediate between the parties of this conflict following the recent tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Bahrami said that Iran is ready to help resolve the conflict between Islamabad and Kabul.

According to this statement, Bahrami also said that Iran plans to issue 200,000 work visas for Afghan citizens.

The statement added that the two sides also discussed migration issues and recent developments in the region, and Iranian officials may visit Kabul to strengthen economic and diplomatic relations.

Abdul Kabir said he will present a plan to Tehran to address the challenges facing Afghan citizens returning to Iran.

Pakistan and Afghanistan witnessed the bloodiest border clashes between the Taliban and the Pakistani security forces last week.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency in Afghanistan reported that at least 37 people were killed and 425 injured in these clashes. Informed sources said that a Taliban delegation will travel to Doha to negotiate an end to the escalation of violence.

In recent months, Iran has resumed mass deportation of Afghan immigrants. According to the Taliban Immigrant Commission, between 500 and 1,000 Afghan citizens are deported from Iran every day.
